Celebration of Life for Kirsten Loy

“Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.”
Consider It Joy
In her life, Kirsten owned many titles: wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, friend, teacher, mentor, and child of God. Whether she was welcoming members at church, hosting Young Life camps and retreats, cheering on the soccer or lacrosse sidelines, hiking with the dogs, or serving as a listening ear, every role filled her days with joy and, most importantly, purpose. Kirsten lived a purpose driven life and its product is seen through her two sons, Noah and Micah, and husband, Greg, and the handprint she has left on the hearts of all who know her.
Kirsten lived life fiercely and authentically, giving glory to God and embodying what it means to trust Jesus. With perspective and prayer, she believed that gratitude can always be found. Whether chasing cancer or joy, Kirsten kept Christ at the center and, with this, surrounded herself with love, community, and strength.
To honor her memory, please reflect on your time spent with Kirsten and “consider it joy.”

“Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.” (Romans 12:1-2)

Therefore, brothers and sisters, since we have confidence to enter the Most Holy Place by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way opened for us through the curtain, that is, his body, and since we have a great priest over the house of God, let us draw near to God with a sincere heart and with the full assurance that faith brings, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water. Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful. And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching. (Hebrews 10:19-25)
